Meta platforms suddenly stop working in a huge outage: Facebook, Instagram, Messenger down.
It appears that users were unable to load the apps or websites as usual. Affected users on Facebook found themselves logged out and unable to log back in, while Instagram completely refused to work. Concerns about potential hacking arose due to the log-out warnings, causing various worried phrases to trend on Twitter/X. However, the error messages seem to stem from issues with Facebook’s login system rather than a cyberattack or hack.
Meta does not run official status pages for its consumer products. And it was yet to post any update on the outage on its official accounts, According to Netblocks on twitter.
