Kangana Ranaut is set to make history as the first woman to set fire to the effigy of Ravan at the Lav Kush Ramleela in Delhi, and she has shared a video about it

Kangana Ranaut shared a video discussing her upcoming participation in an event and her upcoming film, “Tejas.” This unique event is scheduled for October 24. Notably, on Dussehra, Kangana Ranaut will make history by becoming the first woman to perform the Ravan Dahan at the Lav Kush Ramleela in Delhi. This annual event, which has been held at the Red Fort for 50 years, will witness a woman igniting the effigy of the demon king with an arrow for the first time. Arjun Singh, the president of the Lav Kush Ramleela Committee of Delhi, confirmed this groundbreaking development.

On Monday, Kangana Ranaut took to Instagram to share a video where she discussed her upcoming film “Tejas” and the forthcoming event. In her post’s caption, she emphasized the historic nature of the event, noting, “In the 50-year history of this annual event at the Red Fort, it will be the very first time that a woman will ignite the Ravana effigy. Jai Shri Ram.”

Arjun Singh explained that the committee’s decision to have a woman perform the Ravan Dahan was influenced by the Women’s Reservation Bill recently passed by the Parliament in September. He emphasized the tradition of having a VIP guest at their event, which has seen prominent figures like former President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past, along with film stars like Ajay Devgn and John Abraham. Prabhas conducted the Ravan Dahan last year. This year, in the event’s 50-year history, it will mark a historic moment as a woman takes on the role.

Arjun stated that the Lav Kush Ramleela Committee is advocating for equal rights for women, acknowledging the increasing participation of women in various fields. He stressed the importance of the Women’s Reservation Bill in fostering the country and society’s development. He also highlighted the need to eradicate narrow-mindedness in order to promote equality.

Arjun Singh expressed, “Now, a woman has the opportunity to symbolically vanquish evil by setting fire to the effigy of Ravan. This right should be extended to women as well. That’s why we chose Kangana ji for this honor.” The Women Reservation Bill aims to secure 33 percent representation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. The event is slated for October 24.

Meanwhile, Kangana is actively promoting her upcoming film, “Tejas,” set for release this Friday. The movie, written and directed by Sarvesh Mewara, casts her in the role of an Indian Air Force pilot.
