On Ganga Saptami, devotees begin their day early by taking a sacred bath in the waters of the Ganges River. Following this, they light oil lamps (diyas) and release them into the river as a symbolic gesture of devotion. Offerings such as garlands and sweets are made to honor Goddess Ganga. In the evening, a special ritual called aarti is conducted to seek the blessings of the goddess, during which devotees offer lit oil lamps to the river, a practice known as Deep Daan. Additionally, acts of charity such as donating food, water, and clothing to the less fortunate are performed.
