As the debate over changing India’s name to Bharat rages on, actor Amitabh Bachchan appears to have taken a stance. Amidst the ongoing discussions about this potential change, Amitabh posted a significant tweet on Tuesday afternoon.

In his tweet, Amitabh wrote, “Bharat mata ki jai (Hail mother Bharat),” in Hindi. He accompanied the text with both the Tricolour and a red flag emoji. Within just 30 minutes, the tweet garnered 7,000 likes. While many expressed their support for his post, some also inquired about the reason behind his tweet.

The India vs Bharat debate began when screenshots of a dinner invitation circulated on social media. The invitation, scheduled for a G20 dinner on September 9, was addressed to the ‘President of Bharat’ instead of the usual ‘President of India.’ This change raised objections from several political leaders.
